Sticker Shock Shutter Card

This months card for my card club(C.L.O.C.K) was to make a card using stickers. Well when this came out the challenge jar there was a deep gasp in the room from everyone except Kim our sticker queen.The rest of us have a little trouble incorporating stickers into a card but the outcome was some of our better cards. I chose to do my card as a shutter card this type of card with all of its little spaces is perfect for stickers. I embossed the background paper with the heart cuttlebug folder and the stickers I found at Dollar Tree what a deal.I posted the other 3 cards from Kim, Jeannette and Denise.

Greek Plaque

My good friend recently joined the grad. chapter of a sorority AKA. We had talked about joining when we were in college but never got around to it during our undergrad years. Well she took the plunge and did it this past fall so I had to make her something for her accomplishment so I came up with this plaque. If you follow my blog you have seen me make these for shower gifts with the babies name. I did this one with the sororities letters as the focal point and her name off to the side. The right side has a paper doll next to the year she joined while the left side has her name in pearls and her line number in glitter. I used pre made dollies and dollies cut with my silhouette the doll was also cut with the silhouette. The colors are pink and green not the exact shades of the sorority but what I had on hand when I decided to make the plaque.

Wow my last post of 2011 and I want to thank everyone for stopping by my blog. I know my post have not been consistent but I will try to do better in 2012 so stick with me. I also will try to visit more of your blogs so if you drop by please leave a comment with your blog address. For those of you who I already have your blog address I will try to leave more comments in 2012.
Now on to the beautiful card for today, I think a thank you card is perfect for the last post of the year and this is not one of my own cards but was done by my friend Ann Krucek. I love this type of card with clean lines and just the right touch of embellishments. I seem to never know when or how to stop adding embellishments to my cards which is why sometimes it takes me so long to do a card. This card has the right mixture of texture which comes from the dry embossing and pattern paper to give it a nice visual balance. I can't wait until Ann starts her own blog which will be filled with all kinds of crafts. I will post her website once she gets up and running.

Card Club HolidayMeeting

Tonight was our card club Holiday celebration after having to postpone our November meeting due to members being under the weather we had a lot to share. Denise gave a tutorial on coloring skin tones with chalk and brought some images for us to practice on. We shared our one layer challenge cards from the postponed November meeting ( I will post my one layer cards later). One layer cards are a challenge for me because I never know when to stop embellishing. We also exchanged handmade Christmas cards each card was very pretty. Lastly we exchanged gift bags filled with items adding up to a total of $5.00 . Below is the bag I made for the exchange along with the cards and tags. The directions to make the bag I got free from Archivers. The card is one I did a few years ago really wanted to do it again I love the little angel that I got from "Digital Pencil too". The tags are chalked to give a vintage look stamped and embossed. The Poinsettia was cut out with my silhouette embossed to give it texture and covered with glitter paint for a light shimmer. Scrapbooking by the Lake

Yes I do find time to scrapbook.........when invited to a crop. I find it so much easier to make cards these days but once I start scrapping that is all I want to do.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a two day crop at Congress Country Club by my friend Jill Hardie. It was one of the most relaxing and beautiful places I have scrapped. The space had a beautiful view of the lake and the pool which of course at this time of the year was covered. The manager of the lockeroom was very attentive and pleasant. I was able to get quite a few pages done which I hope to share with you soon. Below are just a few shots from the weekend with Jill and my other scrapbooking buddy Ginny.

Paper Piecing with Silhouette

Hello, today I am posting a card we did awhile back in card club. Our challenge was to make a punch or paper piecing animal. This was super easy using one of the great files from www.myscrapchick.com and my silhoutte. We have to make a card for each person in the group for the challenge so needless to say using a cutting machine saves a lot of time. I chose a baby duck from a cutting file from myscrappychick it is so easy to download a file and on Fridays you ge a free one!!! My one hang up when doing faces on a animal or person is the eyes well myscrapchick even has some free printable eyes which I used on the Duck. I added some depth with chalk around the eyes and Voila! a great pair of eyes.

Late Halloween Post

Seems I missed the bewitching hour with my Halloween post but thought you would like to see the project for October card club anyway because if you just change the theme it can be used for any holiday. We had to make a card using a paper bag needless to say my card is more of a mini album than card. I used the technique that I watched on you tube from "following the paper trail". The technique is called a gate fold paper bag. For the project I used orange paper treat bags the majority of the embellishments were cut with my Silhouette with a few store bought cut outs and some hand made tags.Enjoy!

Sometimes you just have to clear your space so you can feel creative. Which is exactly what I had to do in my craftroom. I cleared eveything out even those things that I am sure one day I will need. Getting rid of clutter is so freeing once you are able to let go. Changing furniture around also gives you a feeling of being in a new space. I changed my color scheme slightly got rid of some of the pink all of the blue and purple and added black for more of a pink,black and white color scheme. I was on a tight budget so I had to freshen up old furniture. My first project was spray painting my old plastic drawers. I used Krylons Fusion for plastic it really gives a neat look. I took the drawers out and at first sprayed them from the inside but that gave a matted look so I sprayed from the outside which gave it a more rich color. I added ribbon trim for a nice accent. I love they way they look and plus it hides all the junk inside.
The next project was covering my old chair. I didn't follow any of the directions you can find on the net I just kinda wrapped and stapled where needed and as long as you don't look at the bottom it doesn't look half bad.

A Quick Thank you Card

I am so thankful for beautiful PP it made this card a snap to put together. When you have beautiful paper a lot of layering and stamping is not needed the paper itself is enough. I did this for a family member who needed a thank you card for a nursing home that had taken care of his wife. All I did was stamp the sentiment and add ribbon the card is a little large 5 1/2 by 7 and flips open from the bottom a tip I learned from Becca at Amazing paper Grace it gives you extra room for design space.

Wow can't believe I have been married for 7 years!!! Time really does fly when you are having fun. I made this card for my hubby it is always a challenge for me to make a masculine card(no glitter! no bows!no flowers! Oh No!)okay I did sneak a few flowers in on the stamp image. One thing about making masculine cards you kinda have to keep it simple which makes for a faster pulled together card. On this card I used a cuttlbug embossing folder, a $1 stamp,and embosed some straight lines with my score pal.

Card Club

I recently joined a couple of other ladies in a card club. We meet once a month and share card ideas and techniques,each month there is a theme and this month I got to choose the theme. My theme was to have a hand made flower on your card it was fun to see each persons flower they were all so different. I used a flower technique I had learned on youtube on both of my cards. Both cards used a 5 petal flower to make, I made a stair step card and used a MS punch for the lattice work on one card the other card (peachy color) lattice work is cut from my silhouette. I also have posted the other members cards which are both beautiful! First Denise her cards feature Billie Holiday her hand made flowers were perfect for her image. Next is Kims cards her flower had the clean lines to go along with her uncluttered beautiful teal blue card. Enjoy!

Just a quick post to wish everyone a happy Mothers day and to share with you a card. I am really into hand made flowers and this hydrangea is one of them . Super simple to make I got the instructions off a you tube video from vandeler. The embelishments on the card base were cut out with the silhouette. The lavender card only has a few blossoms but same technique. I will post two more tomorrow see you then.

Chit Chat Birthday Card

I have a lot of Birthhdays in April but this was my favorite card. It was for a dear friend who no matter how long it has been since we have chatted we always have tons to laugh about. I thought this design by Mo Manning at my digtalpencil was the perfect image for us. The coloring was done with my copics , I used my silhouette to make the doily background. The card is large 5x7 and flips open instead of from the side . This also gives you a lot of room to create on the front. Thanks for stopping by!

Yes I feel like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland I don't know how Easter came up so fast. I also was late on a birthday card too, it seems like the month just started and then BANG!! it's almost gone. This all means I had to rush and make some cards to send of course they will all have a belated theme. I made them as simple as possible and used a design I go to often when I need a card in a hurry. Both Spring cards also known as late Easter cards use the scalloped nested nestibilities and a small wooded $1 stamp. The birthday card uses a small clear $1 stamp. I really plan to be ahead of the game next month.......I have about 6 days to pull that off in LOL!!!.

I love the hip images of KennyK's designs they are perfect for teen or young adult cards. For this card I just added some extra bling on the side and let the pattern paper fill the rest of the card. The image is a fun and funky girl who I colored with copics and added a few stickles to add bling to her glasses and belt.

Two roses in the snow

Well it has been awhile since my last post but I have been really busy with work and making these wedding invitations. The theme of the wedding is two roses intertwined in the snow, it is from a poem. I embossed the base and stamped two roses on a oval scalloped separate piece. Outlined some of the embossed snowflakes with stickles and inserted the inside information and that is it...........just do it 50 more times LOL!!! Whew!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and the New Year is treating you well. I thought I would post the easel calender cards I popped in the mail today for my 2 buddies. I have seen these all over the internet and thought it would be fun to give them as little New Years gifts eveybody needs a new calender in January. I always love easel cards because they give the receiver a different way of displaying their cards. Both cards were made from my scrap bin and the calender was from splitcoastampers blog in the forums section under templates/downloads. You can also find the directions for making the easel card there under resources at the top of the page super easy. The frame around the first card was cut with my silhouette. The second cards scalloped circles were made using nestibilities. I hope you will give these cards a try.

Thank Goodness for my silhouette or I would never had got my christmas cards done and I still barely made it. With work and all the things that go along with this Holiday Season( shopping , shopping ,shopping ) I had a hard time getting my cards done. Of course I had planned to have them done by October but.............they got done 12/19. I still have lots of wrapping to do so better make this short .

Tilda in a Basket

I love these sitting Tilda's there are so many options you have of where you can sit them. I chose this basket stamp that I have had for some time now . I usually fill the basket with flowers or some times a peeping pup. This Tilda I thought would be perfect for a birthday basket she already has on her party dress. The background paper is glitter too bad it does not show up well on photos it adds so much to the card. I used MS lattice punch for a decorative touch to this easel card. Treat Bag Tilda

I added the silhouette of the wicked witch from the Wizard of Oz and some small stamped spiders. I first covered the front of the bag with purple cardstock to use as a background on my paper bag. Hello Halo

I just finished making birth announcements for my grandaughter her parents have not had a chance to have professional photos taken yet so I used my camera for some quick shots. Needless to say there is a reason we pay professionals to take photos especially of infants after about 50 shots I finally got one I liked. You would think my battle was over but then printing at home it was almost impossible to get her coloring to print out correctly. I gave up on trying to get her hair color correct (a sandy auburn). Making the actual annoucements were a breeze I used scrap paper , ribbon and lace ,MS lattice punch and a flower punch. This 2 pocket card uses very little paper and is kind of a mini version of these annoucements I made a while back for a friend but not quite as substantial . The pattern for the annoucements only takes a 5 1/2 x 10 1/2 piece of paper, 2 score lines at 3 1/2 and 7 ,two cuts a couple of folds and you are done. Tilda in Lavender

I have not had a chance to make a card in awhile but I did do this pretty Tilda a few weeks ago. I think that the magnolia stamps make such beautiful easel cards pretty to display in any little girls room or to keep in their treasure box. I used my silhouette to make a frame for my tilda to sit on and then just added flowers,ribbons and other knick knacks to fill the frame. I sprinkled fine glitter across tilda to give her a magical glow. I hope you like it.

A Friend is a Treasure

Hello everyone if you remember the post about my nieces girlfriend getaway for which I made stationary sets (if you would like to see them click here these are some add on items I made to go with them. My niece asked if I could make a couple of items to compliment the stationary set. I made flower pot cards using my sihouette and a pattern from my scrappy chic. The flowers are punches glued on to jumbo paper clips that can be used as book markers. I stamped a friendship poem on the inside and added a stand to the back of the card. The second item I made was a photo holder made from a giant clothes pin. I painted the pins with acrylic paint to match there stationary sets added punched flowers and photos I printed to look like polaroids and added a caption to the bottoms. Another Baby Shower

Well I am back to making shower invites this time for a friend of the family. They are expecting a little boy in September ,the nursery is a nautical theme so that is where I took my inspiration from. First I made the invites using my silhouette to cut out the base of the card with one of their images. I also cut the sailboat with the silhouette and used my cuttlebug folder for extra texture. The gift is another baby plaque like I did for my (soon to be grandaughter) the boy plaque is with a nautical theme to tie into the nursery. Now the card is my least favorite I think it has somehthing to do with seeing such perfect ones over at the cutting cafe, where the template for the sailboat comes from. A Scrapbook Page?

Yes I do scrapbook and since my sub title says scrapbook cards and more I thought I would share a scrapbook page with you. I did this for a challenge over at www.tallyscrappers.com . We had to make a male page with the colors red,navy and black. This is my nephew Alex striking a pose with his ball and bat. I'm Going to be a Grandma

My oldest Stepdaughter is due in September she is having a little girl ( Halo). The shower was today and I thought I would share the card and plaque I made for her. The baby's nursery is blue and green that is why you don't see pink. The card is a easel style this way she can disply it in the baby's room if she wants. The decorative frame and label were cut with my silhouette. The plaque base was made from recycled armoire packaging. I used pattern paper along with flowers and baby Angel cut from my silhouette. I also added a gift bag full of baby shoes with a tag that reads " A girl can never have too many shoes" I saw this done at another shower and just loved it so I could not wait to do it. Well my birthday was the 17th of this month but I am just finishing up and sending out the last of my thank you notes. This card is going to my friend Susan who had a crop on my birthday there were 6 of us and she was a perfect hostess . She provided breakfast,lunch,dinner,goody bags and prizes we had a great time and she even baked me a cake to take home. I ended my birthday at my moms with friends and family it was a really good Birthday. Well back to the card it was easy to make with my silhouette. I used a silhouette card die cut and label die(soorry forgot to write down the anames of die cuts) I love the intricate cut out of the card it makes a simple card look so elegant.Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Wow it is so good to know their are still nice people in the world. I know this because I received a beautiful card from someone I don't know and who does not know me (IRL). We have not even communicated through email we just belong to the same online group Magnolia yahoo group. Within this group are a select number of ladies make birthday cards for everyone in the group (which is a lot). Well I received mine from Christina. Let me tell you it was one of the most beautiful cards I have ever received. I in return sent here a thank you card which I made with my silhouette and added a magnolia stamp it pales in comparison to her card. Stationary Set

This is one of my favorite gifts to make they are quick and easy and use very little paper to make. I first saw this idea on Nicole Heady's blog and said hmmm I think I can make that. I was lucky to find a design similar to the cover on Splitcoast stampers . I used my crafters companion envelopemaker to make the envelope boxes that hold the stationary. Just rite stamps were used for the monograms and embossed to give a more professional look. I also used my cuttlebug strip folders to add texture to the bottom of the note card. The matching Tilda card was made using my silhouette to make the doily background. I added a few more sets that I have made to show you all the possibilities. tfl.

Happy 4th of July everyone this week I am participating in the Magnolia birthday bash blog sketch challenge. the theme had to be red white and blue and they provided a sketch . I must say I took some liberties with the sketch (no pun intended LOL!). I used a side step card I figured the side panel would be the large panel in the sketch and the scored first step would be the smaller horizontal panel.
I dressed my tilda in red and blue using copics the statue of liberty cut out was done with my silhouette with a mamaslegacy GSD. Unfortunately mamaslegacy has closed her online shop she had wonderful designs for cut files. I used thickers for the back panel I love the glitter thickers. Just a quick post to share my Fathers Day cards. I made a card for my Dad and DH the golfer is for my dad . I cut the golfer with my sihouette and the border with my spellbinder die. The outside describes the perfect golfer and the inside says "enough about Tiger Woods this card is for the best Dad" The card with the truck is for my DH the image is a digi stamp I am sorry I don't have the blog of who did it will edit post when I remember. The frame was cut with my silhouette I colored everything with copics.The outside reads Honey guess what you are getting for Fathers Day, the inside of this card reads You are getting a handmade card with a truck on it (all I could afford).

2 challenge Day

Hello I have 2 cards for you today, one is for the Mojo Monday challenge and the second is for the splicoast challenge TlC. Once again I had a hard time with liking my mojo card I think I am a little out of practice. I did end up turning the sketch just so I could find something I could live with. My second card is for the Splicoast challenge this week it was to make a one layered card which is a challenge for me. I love simple cards but I seem to want to put everything I own on a card and it also helps to have layers to cover up mishaps. my motto is there is nothing a embellishment won't fix. I used Daisy D's stamp for the image and embossed it with zinc embossing powder. The card was cut with my silhouette that is how I got the loops on the botttom.

Magnolia Birthday Bash #4

Well it is another day and I do like this card much better than yesterday's card for mojo 142. This card is a challenge for Magnolia Birthday Bash going on over at the birthday bash blog . The challenge was pretty simple make a easel card using a magnolia stamp , two of my favorite things so easy peasy!!! MOJO 142

Okay not to happy with my card I was so excited to find the time for a mojo challenge
but this sketch gave me fits. I am still not happy with it and just finally gave up. I think my center slanted panel is just to small. Oh well tomorrow is another day.
I just used scraps from my stash for the paper cut the swirls at the bottom with my silhouette along with the small square in the middle the ribbon is Bazzil. Hopefully next time I will have a better card for you tfl.

Magnolia sketch challenge

I love a sketch challenge it is always so much fun to look at what everyone has done. I always get so many ideas by looking at others creativity and that is just what is going on over at the magnolialious blog birthday bash. This week it is a sketch challenge I couldn't wait to use my silhouette to make another frame I can't remember the name of this one off hand but it also has 2 borders you can download . I normally just have the silhouette cut just once but on more intricate designs I probably should have it cut twice just so I don't have to worry about the smaller holes not being fully out when I remove the cardstock from the mat. As you can see not all my holes are out but live and learn I still think it turned out okay. I used some scrap paper from my stash to make the card,the tiny bows were made with the bow easy (man I love that thing),the sentiment is from a dollar stamp and I popped my tilda to give it a 3D effect. Tilda Color Challenge

I did a color challenge over at the Tallyscrappers I love the colors that were in the inspiration photo not colors I would think of putting together but really liked them once it was done . Outdoor Wedding

It's the season for weddings and graduations and I went to a beautiful outdoors wedding today. I always think people who plan outdoor weddings are the same people who think the glass is always half full. Outside weddings just have a million things that could wrong besides the obvious rain so you have to have a positive outlook to plan a outdoor wedding. This is the card I made for the happy couple I just love white wedding cards and with this one I just added a touch of the bridal party color. I embossed the top layer with a cuttlebug folder and added a decorative border with my silhouette embellished with a few pearls and that was it. Thanks for stopping by today.

The first is a trio of Mothers Day cards I made for my Mom sis and niece. The lattice work on the side of the first one was made with my silhouette along with the frame in the purple card. I love love love my silhouette for doing intricate designs I could never find a intricate punch like these designs and if I did they would not punch through heavy cardstock. On the first card I used simple stickers and popped them one on top of another and then sprinkled the whole card with fine glitter. The other two cards are pretty simple cards. Happy valentine's Day hope you received or gave love today to someone special. This is just a quick post to share my Valentine card I made today it is another easel card they are so addicting!! I used clipart for the images colored with copics and just basic solid cardstock. The red ban of cardstock was embossed with a cuttle bug folder. Hello, I decided to share a quick and easy Valentine project today which I am sure most of you have done before.I decorated a couple of the Target mailboxes with pp to give as gifts for Valentines day to my nephew (age4)and my neighbor(age5). I made small cards to go with them using the animals from the paper and layering the images for more interest. I filled the inside with small Valentines gifts to make a quick and inexpensive gift. tfl.

Valentine cards have to be one of the most fun to make. The theme can be playful or heartfelt I personaly like some red in all my valentine cards or at least some pink. Brick Wall

I love splitcoast Stampers technique challenges but rarely have time to play but this week was a technique I love called Brick Wall. The directions are simple stamp a image and cut it into varies size strips and then blocks. Well i decided to make it even simpler by using DP instead of stamping. I then chalked the edges and added gold stickers for a more detailed look. By using a different section of DP I was able to get a totally different look.

New Baby Stand up Card

This will be short and sweet because I have not even started my Christmas cards for this year. Please let's not even talk about the shopping........not finished. Okay back to the card I love stand up cards I think it gives the receiver another option of what to do with your card besides put it in a box. Now your cards can be displayed like a work of art. This card was done for a new baby I think it would be adorable in the baby's room. Besides using a photo of the parents I also found a sweet little girl poem to place at the bottom. Okay I gotta run a ton of things to do.

Time is moving so fast I can't believe it is Dec. already of course this is from a adults point of view to a child this time of year takes forever to come. That is why I made my nephew a countdown calendar box. I bought a premade box from Archivers used some pattern paper and stickers to decorate added penny candy ,small toys,change and stickers inside the drawers easy peasy. Hopefully this will make each days wait for Santa a little bit more fun.

I cannot believe it has been a month since my last post!!! That means I really need to get organized and on a schedule. Well for those of you that have hung in there during my absence I have 2 cards to share with you. I am really trying to use my stamps in different ways in order to get more use out of them and to help me increase my stash of cards which I never seem to be able to do. I would love to just be able to pull a card from my stash when I or someone else ask me for a card. The image I used for todays cards are from Mo Manning at www.digitalpenciltoo.com she has the most adorable digi stamps. This little fellow I used for two birthday cards. The first one was for a friend turning 50 the inside reads "I don't have a clue to who stole your youth but I am on the case because they stole mine too". Now just by changing the clues on the ground to words I made another birthday card. The inside of this cards reads" I have searched high and low and I can't find the words to wish you the best birthday ever". I really need to do this with more of my stamps to get more use out of them and save me some money by not always thinking I need new stamps. Magnolia stand up card

This was such a fun card to make I know I will be doing more. If you have not checked out the www.magnolia-licioushighlights.blogspot.com blog this month click over and check out this months challenge. They have this fun stand up card that really lets your receiver show off your work. Although it is a stand up card it lays flat(forgot to take a picture of it flat sorry) but it looks just like a regular card. I used the only Magnolia image I have that was actually sent to me in a swap so it is actually a image someone else stamped for me. I am putting these cute adorable stamps at the top of my WANT list. Okay little boys cards are fun unlike male cards. This card is for a little boy Zeke turning 6 who is a big Monster Truck fan. The image is from Dustin Pikes digital images he has a lot of fun digital images for kids cards. I used some textured paint in sand at the bottom of the card to get that sandy dirty feel and look. Used my Bic Mark its to color the image.The embosing is from a cuttle bug folder I think it is a herringbone or weave folder but I think it makes great tire marks. Thanks for stopping by.

Well today I have two new cards to share with you and then I have to run and do errands before the thunderstorms hit. The first card is for Lauren's blog we had a inspiration piece to use that was aprons hanging on the line. I wanted to make a card that used those colors along with the feeling of being light and airy.You can see the inspiration piece here When I finished with my card I felt something was missing........it was layers I always have layers on my cards although I love simple cards I am a pile it on type person.

This is my first attempt at a sketch by Lauren's and it was tons of fun. I loved the off setting of the squares made it a challenge but still easy enough to create without a lot of time. I used a clear $1 stamp and some BG paper added a little stickles for some added "Umph" and Voila a really fun card. Now all I have to do is get the nerve up to try one of Lauren's "Timeless Templates" This is one of two sketches today don't forget to take a peep at my Mojo Monday sketch.

Mojo 98

It's hard to believe I got 2 sketches done today the first is my Mojo Monday sketch and the second is the My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence. The Mojo one was the most difficult because I was making a masculine card for my brother in law. Masculine cards always throw me for a loop because I always want to throw on some stickles and a ribbon. Because masculine cards are such a challenge for me I kept the paper simple and just used solid cardstock and CB embossing folders. The image is clipart and i used my scallop circle nestie for the center. The side is stamped with a flourish stamp. Don't forget to checkout my "My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence" sketch today.

My niece asked me to help her out by making 3 cards for her girls weekend. Last year she did a sex in the city look check here for that post. Well it has been awhile since I have done a Caardvark challenge but this one was right on time the challenge is to make a baby card. I am working on some shower invites for a friend who is expecting a little girl. I used a pattern from off the splitcoast site unfortunately I do not have a die cut for this so they all have to be cut by hand. I embossed the paper with the CB folder swiss dots (my favorite folder)cut the out line of the dress with scallop scissors and added pearls to the neck line. I love this little pattern and use it often thanks for taking a peek.

I had fun doing this weeks Nextlevel challenge although it was hard for me to find my supplies because my craftroom is a MESS!!! Back to the card I like the way my card turned out except for the flower ugh! it looks so ummmm hmmm I can't find words to describe it I think I will replace it. The challenge was to have some sort of 3D effect I did this with the wings. I love having some type of image coming off the page. I have finally done a stair step card after spending hours drooling over all the gorgeous ones on SCS and now at Nextlevel blogspot I decided to try one.
Nextlevel had a challenge to do one so this was a perfect time for me too finally give it a go. I don't know about you but once I post my cards on line I see a million things I could add or change. What a fun sketch over at www.thenextlevelchallenge.blogspot.com and their design team did some beautiful cards with it. I was in need once again for a grad card just when you think you have made the last one Oh no!!! you need one more. I used a precious moment image colored it with water color pencils. The paper is from a DCWV pad I believe the Citrus pack. I used the Dr. Seuss book "Oh the Places you will go" for the sentiments it is so perfect for grad cards.The card is a shutter card which makes for a fun card to open.

This weeks Mojo used a slimline card for it's sketch challenge it was a nice change of pace from the traditional square card. Next level Ribbon Border Challenge

Over at next level the challenge was to use the ribbon border technique to make a card. This technique had been on my to do list for weeks so this was the push I neede to give it a try. I wish I had put more layers on the card but I guess a simple card is better for this technique to show off the ribbon. I am a ribbon lover so I love the chance to use ribbon in different ways.

Well I have a double post today first I have the Magnolia post it note challenge. I love these images unfortunately I don't have any Magnolia images but I was fortunate to have received a couple of stamp images from someone else so I could play along. I plan to give this as a gift to a friend who has a little girl and boy. Well I needed a bunch of Father Day cards and masculine cards are my least favorite to do. I like doing childrens cards and female cards with all the glitter,bows ,bright colors and fun so I did sneak some fun into some of my masculine cards. The sleepy bear is a digital image from Dustin Pike he has tons of cute images. I used his Noahs Ark image on this card for a baby shower.

MojoTime and some birthday cards

Wow this has really been a busy card making week it has been hard to fit in some of my favorite challenges. I did manage to get my Mojo on today their sketches are always so fun to do. I did a square card it seemed to fit the sketch best I was tempted to add another element to the top square but I restrained myself. I seem to think every inch needs to be embellished even though I love simple designed cards I keep adding on.

I also had a few birthday cards I needed to make and to add to my stash. I have been really getting into pop up cards so decided to try a little different style. I also wanted to try a technique on my other card that i had seen I think on the cuttlebug challenge blog. It involves embossing your paper with a cuttlebug folder and then turning it over to the negative side where you have the grooves. I then took my glue pen and filled in all the hollow parts next I sprinkled my glitter into them pressed down a little a Voila! a beautiful glittered embossed image

Well I have not posted in a couple of weeks I have been busy making cards for people.
This time of the year is always a busy time with so many things going on. Starting with Mothers Day,Graduations,Fathers Day, Weddings and Baby showers. There seems to be a big demand for cards, Today I will show you a couple of cards I made for a baby shower. I always make a couple of styles when I get a special order for a card, that gives the person a choice and the extras goes into my stash. Well I made 3 baby cards for a person who wanted a card which was netural in gender. She only needed one card but ended up buying all three(another reason I make more than one). My favorite is the Noahs Ark it is a digi stamp from DustinPike I first saw it here at Paulas Ponderings I love her coloring on this image. I have tons of stuff to do today so I had to make a quick card. I used my formula for a quick card: 1. Keep the color simple (mono is best) 2. Pull out some premade stickers and embellishments. 3. Add interest with dry embossing. Voila! You now have a formula for quick cards that you can use next time you are in a pinch.

This challenge from Laura is right on time I need a card for a 1 year olds party. It will be a cupcake themed party so this sweet challenge fits the bill. I used a pattern I have had for a while that I got off Splitcoast. I changed it up a little by adding vellum and the MS border punch for lace. Creatively cute bloggers challenge

The blogger group over at splitcoast Creatively Cute Bloggers had a neat challenge posted by one of our members (Jackie). We had to use a inspiration photo from a magazine of a room grouping I chose this room and this is my card. I love the splash of color against the white and the way the wood table anchors it all.My card has a lot of embossing to add texture and pattern like the chair does in the inspiration photo and I did the matting in brown to anchor the colors like in the inspiration room.

I made this Wild & Crazy Easter Chick with crazy feather hair for the texture, the eggs are fun foam. All the ladies did some really cute cards go check them out.

Reynolds wrap thank you

These are two thank you cards I did for a challenge over at Tally scrappers. The first one I used reynolds wrap and embossed it with my cuttlebug folder. This is easy to do just glue a sheet of foil to a piece of card stock and emboss as normal. You can also ink it using alcohol inks for a touch of color. The second I used a Stamp from the Studio G $1 line, I popped the little dog with foam squares and he is colored with Marvey embossing markers.

Okay I am back and wanted to give more detail on the card. I used the MS lace punch which I adore. The cake is a 3D sticker punchout which I got for .50cents what a deal!! This card has a lot of glitter accents on the background paper and the cake trim sorry it does not show up on the photo.
